๐Ÿ” Prof. Xia is honored as chief scientist from National Key Research and Development Program of China

The National Key Research and Development Program of China project titled "Renewable Energy-Driven CO2 Reduction for the Production of High-Purity Liquid Fuels and Natural Products", led by Professor Xia, was recently approved. This marks a significant milestone as it is the first timethat a faculty from School of Materials and Energy in UESTC has served as Chief Scientist to lead a National Key Research and Development Program project.

The project is part of the "Clean and Efficient Utilization of Coal Technology" initiative and is being jointly undertaken by UESTC๏ผŒin partnership with Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology and four other collaborating institutions. This initiative addresses critical national energy challenges, focusing on advancing foundational research, enhancing the core competitiveness of the energy industry, strengthening independent innovation capacity, and supporting the strategic goals of national energy security.

The project aims to develop cutting-edge technologies for the sustainable utilization of CO2 to produce C6+ natural products and high-purity liquid fuels. By addressing key technical barriers, the project is expected to make substantial contributions to achieving sustainable energy development and environmental protection.
